The Mandolin and Bouzouki of Tim O'Brien (2004)
AVI | DX50 720x480 821 kbps 29.97 fps 1.5 | MP3 128 kpbs 48 KHz | 817 MB
Actors: Tim O'Brien | Directors: Happy Traum | Studio: Homespun Tapes | Run Time: 115 minutes
DVD Release Date: April 1, 2004
Genre: Instrument Video TutorialsTim O?Brien?s artistry is unique, crossing boundaries between bluegrass, old time, Irish, country and folk music styles. His heartfelt singing, instrumental virtuosity and profound songwriting have put him at the very pinnacle of today?s acoustic performers.
Tim O?Brien?s course will be a boon to mandolin and bouzouki (octave mandolin) players who want to improve their technique, develop ideas and learn new repertoire. Whether he?s breaking down an Irish slip jig, an old time mountain ballad, a bluegrass tune or an original country/pop song, Tim brings his brilliant musicianship and formidable technique to bear, making these pieces fun and enlightening for learning players.
The tunes and techniques that Tim teaches can be played on either instrument. Switching between mandolin and bouzouki (they are tuned to the same notes one octave apart), he demonstrates right and left hand techniques and the advantages of each for soloing, song accompaniment and how to get the most out of their respective textures and tonalities.
Each song or instrumental that Tim teaches will bring you greater facility on your instrument. They include "Down in a Willow Garden," "The High Road," "Lay Down Your Weary Tune," "One Girl Cried," "More Love," "The Kid on the Mountain" and "Travelers."
Note: Even if you don?t have a bouzouki, there?s plenty of material on this lesson to keep mandolinists busy for a long time!

Robert Greenberg Understanding the Fundamentals of Music
Robert Greenberg: Understanding the Fundamentals of Music
AVI | XVID 640x480 748 kbps 29.97 fps 4:3 | MP3 108 kpbs 48 KHz | 4.5 GB
Course No. 7261 (16 lectures, 45 minutes/lecture) | Taught by Robert Greenberg
Genre: Video TrainingWe all know that beneath the surface of music, beyond the joy or excitement or even heartache that this beautiful language of sound can stir within us, lies the often mysterious realm of music theory?a complex syntax of structural and instrumental resources that composers may draw on.
No matter what kind of music we listen to?symphony or string quartet, saxophone solo or vocal ballad, hip hop or Gregorian chant?we feel the impact of that music and have done so all our lives, even though we may not know how such impact is achieved, or understand the fundamental processes of musical composition.
But what if we did understand how certain musical effects were achieved? What if we could learn to follow the often-intimidating language of key signatures, pitch, mode, melody, meter, and other parts of musical structure used by composers? What if we could recognize these various components at work as we listened to our favorite music? What if we could "speak" the language of Western music?
It's a language that Professor Robert Greenberg calls rich, varied, and magnificent, and he has little doubt about the rewards of even a beginning level of fluency.
"It's a language that pays us back tenfold?a hundredfold?for every detail we come to recognize and perceive! And it's a language that will only get richer and more varied, as our increasingly global culture contributes ever more vocabulary to it."

Speedlights & Speedlites: Creative Flash Photography
Quote:Lou Jones, Bob Keenan, Stephen Ostrowski, "Speedlights and Speedlites: Creative Flash Photography at the Speed of Light"
Focal Press | ISBN: 0240812077 | 2009 | 224 pages | PDF | 9.4 MB
Canon Speedlites and Nikon Speedlights are small, off-camera flashguns that can provide big results - if you know how to use them properly. Acclaimed Boston photographers Lou Jones, Bob Keenan and Steve Ostrowski guide you through the technical and creative aspects of how to get the most out of these powerful tools in this indispensable guide, packed full of inspirational images and comprehensive diagrams of the lighting set ups used to capture them.
They are significantly more advanced, lighter and considerably cheaper than a standard flashgun, and have many advantages. They are small (and cheap) enough that a number can be carried in your kit, and they can be used in combination, triggered wirelessly. They use through-the-lens (TTL) metering, which allows you to use the in-camera LCD and histograms to calculate the required power/direction, rather than havng to use a light meter or trial and error. They use proprietary, dedicated technology (from Canon and Nikon) that means there are no compatability issues.Code: Select All http://hotfile.com/dl/44923603/e5fbb09/SpeedlightsSpeedlites.rar.html

Gnomon Workshop ? Head Sculpting and Texturing 2 DVD
Gnomon Workshop ? Head Sculpting and Texturing 2 DVD | 11.5GBThis 2-disc set takes an in-depth look at the design and creation of a detailed character head using Pixologic?s ground breaking software ZBrush. In over eight hours of lecture, Alex Alvarez sculpts a head from scratch using Zspheres and ZBrush?s arsenal of sculpting and detailing tools.
Beginning with primitive shapes derived from Zspheres, the primary forms of the head are quickly blocked out to determine general proportion and design. Alex then refines the eyes, ears, nose, mouth and horn regions before moving into Projection Master to create surface details. Once the geometry is complete, the use of ZBrush as a texturing tool is demonstrated in the creation of high-resolution bump, color and specular maps. The creation of custom tileable Alpha libraries with ZBrush and Photoshop is also demonstrated.
In conclusion, Alex shows how to integrate geometry, displacements and textures using Maya?s native renderer and Mental Ray. Every step of the process is shown using real-time and timelapse video.

Gnomon Workshop - NURBS Modeling Vol. 1-3 (Repack)
Gnomon Workshop - NURBS Modeling Vol. 1-3 | 2.32GBMaya?s set of NURBS modeling tools can be used to effectively sculpt an infinite variety of organic and hard-shelled objects. NURBS are spline based surfaces which have been the standard for virtually all high-end modeling work due to their implicit UV texture space, resolution independence and intuitive curve-derivation. This lecture focuses on the mastery of fundamental techniques for curve and surface creation as a crucial step towards the ability to model any design. By demonstrating the construction of a house, several NURBS tools are discussed, explained and applied.
Continuing from knowledge gained in Modeling, 1, two projects are used to demonstrate NURBS modeling of intermediate level complexity. Techniques for fast-form development are explained through the use of many related curve and surface tools. It is through the understanding of how each tool uniquely fits into a modeling workflow that efficient techniques emerge. The initial difficulty most users face is that there are always many ways to approach any modeling task, yet choosing the quickest path can be elusive. Speed, however, is an important trait of any production artist, as your production value (salary) is based on your productivity.
This lecture focuses on the intermediate/advanced modeling of a GTP racecar. The car is known for its low profile and canopied top. Through a series of steps, the basic shell of the body is transformed into a multitude of characteristic details. Each detail explores a variety of modeling tools and techniques. The end result is a compound-NURBS object consisting of many individual surfaces which maintain positional and tangential continuity.

Gnomon Master Classes 2009 Music Video Post Production-HELL
Ergin Kuke will discuss the methods, pipeline, budgeting and client expectation management of 3d/post production work in a small studio environment. Case studies on 3 music videos will be covered: Anjulie?s ?Boom? (MTV Music Award?s Best Newcomer Artist Video), Regina Spektor?s ?Laughing with God? and Beyonce?s ?Sweet Dreams?. The music video industry is not the huge money maker it used to be. One of the reasons they still get done is as a creative outlet and a means to ?make a name? for the studios and directors involved. It tends to be a more freely creative environment, especially when young musicians and bands are in play. Budgets are tight, deadlines are very tight and managing the layers between production houses, directors, musicians, music labels and the post-production house is a risky business. How to actually get the job, what creative input does the post production company have, budgeting of time and money, managing client expectations, pipelines and delivery methods. Ergin will go over 3 case studies and explain how a 3-5 man studio finished 6 music videos in 2 and a half months. Results are sometimes great and sometimes less than great. Successes and shortcomings will be analyzed in an attempt to share the experiences and what was learned from them.

Learnflash.com - Building websites in Flash CS4
Learnflash.com - Building websites in Flash CS4 | 1.1GB
English | MPEG4 (H264) 900x676 15.00fps | AAC 53.6 Kbps 44.1 KhzIn this video series, Craig will teach you the basics of using Flash CS4 to create entire websites that contain animations, sound, video, and much more.
Detailed Video Descriptions:
* 01 ? Introduction (Running Time: 00:53)
* 02 ? Building a Simple Website (Running Time: 18:00)
In this video, Craig jumps in and gets started creating a simple website from scratch, using only Flash.
* 03 ? Making it Work (Running Time: 13:33)
In this video, Craig takes the website he?s constructed and codes the buttons in order to navigate between the pages.
* 04 ? Using Frame Labels (Running Time: 13:14)
In this lesson, Craig will demonstrate how to create frame labels and then how to point to those labels in ActionScript in order to make your code more flexible and easier to read.
* 05 ? Animated Page Transitions (Running Time: 17:25)
Instead of simply jumping from page to page when we click on our navigation buttons, it would be nice if we could create some kind of animated transition between pages. In this video, Craig will show you how.
* 06 ? One-Frame Website (Running Time: 8:09)
In this video, we?ll take everything we?ve learned so far and compress it down so that our entire website takes up only one frame in the main timeline.
* 07 ? Attaching Movie Clips with ActionScript (Time: 16:20)
In this video, we?re going to start making a more flexible website by attaching our website pages to the stage using ActionScript.
* 08 ? Animating Pages with ActionScript (Running Time: 11:05)
In this video, you?ll learn how to use ActionScript to create an exit animation for your pages.
* 09 ? Finishing Up the Animations (Running Time: 14:29)
After one page performs its exit animation, Craig demonstrates how to animate the next page onto the stage.
* 10 ? Disabling Buttons (Running Time: 11:01)
In this video, Craig will show you how to disable the button for the page you?re currently viewing.
* 11 ? Simple Button Animations (Running Time: 11:35)
In this video, you?ll learn how to create simple rollover animations for your button symbols.
* 12 ? Setting Up Movie Clip Buttons (Running Time: 13:55)
You?ll find that if you use Movie Clip symbols for your navigation instead of Button symbols, you?ll have much more flexibility with the behavior of your buttons. In this video, we?ll get started creating some movie clip buttons.
* 13 ? Creating the Over Animation (Running Time: 17:34)
With our movie clip button set up, in this video, Craig demonstrates how to create the rollover animation for the button.
* 14 ? Creating the Out Animation (Running Time: 8:07)
In this video, Craig demonstrates how to add code for the rollout animation for our movie clip buttons.
* 15 ? Finishing Touches (Running Time: 10:00)
In this lesson, Craig adds some finishing touches to our movie clip buttons in ActionScript.
* 16 ? Building a Drop Down Menu (Running Time: 17:14)
In this video, Craig demonstrates how to create a popup menu using Flash CS4 and ActionScript 3.
* 17 ? Coding the Drop Down Menu (Running Time: 20:00)
In this lesson, Craig will show you the ActionScript code that you need in order to make your popup menu work.
* 18 ? Importing Images (Running Time: 12:11)
In this video, Craig will show you how to import the graphics you?ll be using for the project website.
* 19 ? Responding to Mouse Movement (Running Time: 13:09)
In this lesson, you will learn how to use ActionScript to make objects respond to the movement of your mouse cursor.
* 20 ? Horizontal Movement (Running Time: 15:23)
In this video, you?ll take what you learned in the last video and apply it to the graphical elements in our project website.
* 21 ? Vertical Movement (Running Time: 7:52)
Now that our objects are moving horizontally in response to our mouse movement, in this video, we?ll make them move vertically as well.
* 22 ? Animated Chimney Smoke (Running Time: 9:45)
In this video, Craig will construct a looping animation of smoke coming out of a chimney.
* 23 ? Animating a New Page (Running Time: 10:25)
In this video, Craig will demonstrate how to animate in the contact page for the project website using a shape tween.
